DEVELOPING A PROBLEM BASED LEARNING- BASED PHYSICS INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIAL TO IMPROVE SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS’ LEARNINGACHIEVEMENT AND INTEREST

Abstract


Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: (1) menghasilkan produk perangkat pembelajaran berbasis Problem Based Learning yang dikembangkan layak digunakan dalam pembelajaran, (2) mengetahui seberapa besar peningkatan penguasaan materi peserta didik setelah menggunakan perangkat pembelajaran berbasis Problem Based Learning yang dikembangkan, dan (3) mengetahui besar pencapaian minat belajar peserta didik SMA setelah menggunakan perangkat pembelajaran berbasis Problem Based Learning yang dikembangkan. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan (R&D) dengan model 4-D. Tahap define merupakan tahap awal untuk mendefinisikan permasalahan. Tahap design berupa pengumpulan referensi, penentuan format, dan pembuatan rancangan awal perangkat pembelajaran yang akan dikembangkan. Tahap develope melipui validasi, revisi, uji coba terbatas, dan uji coba luas. Tahap disseminate berupa penyebarluasan produk akhir perangkat pembelajaran. Subjek penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas X MIPA 1 dan X MIPA 2 SMA N 1 Minggir. Hasil penelitian ini adalah: (1) Perangkat pembelajaran Usaha dan Energi berbasis Problem Based Learning (PBL) layak digunakanuntuk meningkatkan prestasi dan minat belajar peserta didik dengan perolehan skor RPP dan LKPD ialah 4,67 dan 4,72 yang termasuk dalam kategori sangat baik., (2) Perangkat pembelajaran Usaha dan Energi berbasis Problem Based Learning (PBL) efektif digunakan ditinjau dari peningkatan prestasi belajar peserta didik dengan nilai standart gain sedang yaitu 0,47, (3) Pembelajaran Usaha dan Energi berbasis Problem Based Learning (PBL) efektif digunakan ditinjau dari peningkatan minat belajar peserta didik dengan nilai standart gain sedang yaitu 0, 31. Kata Kunci: Pengembangan Perangkat Pembelajaran, Problem Based Learning, prestasi belajar, minat belajar Abstract This study aimed at (1) developing a feasible product in the form of problem based learning-based instructional set, (2) discovering the increase of the material mastery of the students after utilizing the developed instructional set, and (3) discovering the high school students' learning interest after utilizing the developed instructional set. This study was categorized as Research and Development ( R&D) with the 4-D model. Define stage is the initial stage to define the issue. The design stage is carried out by collecting references, determining the format, and making an early design of the instructional set. Develop stage comprises validation, revision, the small group try out, and the field try out. Disseminate stage is the distribution of the final product of the instructional set. The subjects of this study were the students of class X MIPA 1 and X MIPA 2 of SMAN 1 Minggir. The results of this study were: (1) a feasible PBL- based instructional set for Work and Energy to improve the students' achievement and to grow students' learning interest by the score of Lesson Plan (RPP) and the Students Worksheet (LKPD) was 4.67 and 4.72, which were classified as ‘very good'. (2) An effective PBL-based instructional material for Work and Energy to improve students' learning achievement with the average standard gain score of 0.47. (3) An effective PBL learning process of Work and Energy, it was seen from the increase of students' learning interest with a standard gain score by 0.31.
