KEEFEKTIFAN METODE PROBING PROMPTING DALAM PEMBELAJARAN MENULIS TEKS BERITA PADA SISWA KELAS VIII SMP NEGERI 6 SURAKARTA

Abstract



This  study  aimed  (1)  to find a significant difference at news text writing
between students that attended probing prompting method learning and students
that used conventional method learning; (2) to test the effectiveness  probing
prompting method learning in news text writing toward 8th
 grade students of SMP
Negeri 6 Surakarta.
This study used quantitative research using experimental method study. The
design of this study is a pretest posttest design group control. Population of this
study used 8th
 grade students of SMP Negeri 6 Surakarta. Students of B class of
8th
 grade assigned to be the controlling class and students of A class of 8th
 grade
become the experimenting class based on cluster random sampling technic. prates
and pascates test was used to gather data. The validity of the instrument is in the
form of content validity. Validity and reliability was measured using SPSS 23.0
software. T-test was used to analyze data at 5% significance.  Before data
analyzing process was done, normality test and homogeneity test was done first.
The test using SPSS 23.0 software showed prates and pascates data was normally
distributed and homogeneous.
The result of this study indicated that (1) there is a significant difference of
news text writing creativity between students that attended at probing prompting
learning and students that attended at conventional learning; (2) prombing
prompting learning method was proofed to be effective at news text writing to 8th
 
grade students of SMP Negeri 6 Surakarta. T-test analysis data of pascates control
group dan experiment group resulting 2.944 with 60 db, and p value  0.005. P
value was less than significance degree of 5% (p = 0.005 < 0.05). T-test analysis
of prates and pascates data of experiment group resulting at 6.670 with 30 db, and
p value 0.000. P value was less than significance degree of 5% (p = 0.000 < 0.05).
