PENINGKATAN KETERAMPILAN MENULIS NASKAH DRAMA DENGAN PENERAPAN MODEL PEMBELAJARAN LANGSUNG (DIRECT INSTRUCTION) PADA SISWA KELAS XI IPA 1 SMA KOLOMBO SLEMAN YOGYAKARTA

Abstract


This research aims to describe the increasing of drama script writing skill
through application of direct instruction model for XI IPA 1 students in SMA
Kolombo Sleman Yogyakarta. This research uses 4 procedures that are Planning,
Action, Observation, and Reflection. The subject in this research is 26 students of
XI IPA 1 SMA Kolombo Sleman Yogyakarta. The data is the result of
observation, field note, interview result, test result in drama script writing, and
documentation.   
This research uses quantitative and qualitative analysis to analyze the data.
The  criteria of success are divided into two that is process and product. The
success of the process is based on the increasing of learning process. The success
of the product is based on indicator performance and students’ grade.
 The result of this research  shows that the application of direct instruction
model can increase the drama script writing skill of students in XI IPA 1 SMA
Kolombo Sleman Yogyakarta. After given Action using direct instruction learning
model, based on the process, drama script writing skill is increasing. There is
change in learning condition, student participation in class, enthusiasm in the
lesson, and corporation among students during the lesson using direct instruction
learning model than before the Action. The increasing of the product is shown
through the average grade of the students writing result, that is 48,9, frist cycle
was 72,6, and second cycle  78,6. It can be conclude that direct instruction model
is one of the models that can raise drama script writing skill.
