The Impact Of The Revitalization Of The Malioboro Area On Street Vendors In The Development Of Culture-Based Tourism in Yogyakarta City

Abstract


This research aims to explain the impact of the revitalization of the Malioboro area and to provide policy recommendations for developing tourism in the Malioboro area of Yogyakarta. This research is descriptive qualitative research. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews and documentation. Technique for checking the validity of the data used in this research is source triangulation. The data analysis technique is carried out by collecting data, reducing data, presenting data and drawing conclusions. The result of this research show that revitalization of the Malioboro area has had an economic and socio-cultural impact on street vendors. The impact most felt by street vendors is a decrease in income, which then has an impact on other economic aspects such as a reduction in employees, the price of merchandise sold, and ownership of land and stalls. Apart from economic aspects, revitalization also has an impact on social aspects such as interpersonal relationships between street vendors, organizational changes, street vendor routines, increasing irregularities, and impacts on customs and art in Malioboro. The government’s primary goal in revitalizing the Malioboro area was to orginize itu. This objective has currently been met, and street vendors has been set up to suggest the Axis of Philosophy.
