THE EFFECTIVENESS OF THE KEPALA BERNOMOR TERSTRUKTUR TECHNIQUE FOR TEACHING OF THE GERMAN READING SKILL FOR GRADE XI STUDENTS OF SMA N 1 TEMPEL SLEMAN

Abstract


This research is aimed at investigating (1) the differences in German reading skill of grade XI students of SMA Negeri 1 Tempel Sleman between those who are taught using kepala bernomor terstruktur technique and those who are taught using conventional method, (2) the effectiveness of kepala bernomor terstruktur for teaching German reading skill for Grade XI students of SMA Negeri 1 Tempel Sleman. This research is a quasi-experiment research in which data were collected using pre- and post-test method. Reliability was calculated using KR-20 formula with reliability coefficient of 0.927. The T-test analysis has resulted in tcount of 2.892 which is larger than ttable, 2.009, with significance level of α = 0.05 and significance weight of 9.43%. Therefore, it could be concluded that kepala bernomor terstruktur technique is more effective for teaching German reading skill than conventional method.
