The type of this research is quasi experiment by utilizing pre- and post-test conrol group design. The population of this research is the entire 77 pupils of XI IPS class of SMA Negeri 1 Pengasih Kulon Progo Kulon Progo. Simple random sampling was employed as sampling technique. Based on the sample obtained, XI IPS 1 class (26 pupils) was assigned as experiment class and XI IPS 2 (26 pupils) was assigned as control class. Instrumental validity of this research consists of content validity and construct validity. Validity test result showed that 37 out of 60 questions were valid. Reliability count was calculated by K-R 20 formula with 0,94 reliability coefficient. Data analysis was conducted using independent t-test. Independent t-test data analysis resulted in “t-count” of 4,25 point greater than 2,00 point of “t-table” with significance level of ∝= 0,05. This shows significant difference between classes which employed reciprocal learning strategy and classes with conventional learning methodddes. The effectiveness rate reached 8,87%. Average final score in the class with reciprocal learning strategi was 29,65, higher than conventional learning class which showed 27,53.
