THE EFFECTIVENESS OF COOPERATIVE LEARNING TECHNIQUES OF “QUESTION-STUDENT-HAVE” IN THE LEARNING OF READING IN GERMAN AMONG THE STUDENTS OF CLASS XI SMAN 2 BANGUNTAPAN BANTUL

Abstract


This study aimed to determine: (1) differences achievement in the learning of reading in German among the students of class XI SMAN 2 BanguntapanBantul between the taught using Cooperative Learning techniques of Question Student Have and taught using conventional teaching methods, (2) the effectiveness of Cooperative Learning techniques of Question Student Have in the learning of reading in German among the students of class XI SMAN 2 BanguntapanBantul. This research is a quasi experimental. This study has two variables: the method of Cooperative Learning techniques Question Student Have as independent variables and reading skills as the dependent variable. This research was conducted at SMAN 2 BanguntapanBantul, the entire population in class XI students totaling 207 learners. The sampling technique using simple random sampling.Obtained from sampling XI IPS 1 as the control class and class XI IPS 2 as an experimental class. The data obtained in the study of German language reading skills scores of students in the pre-test and post- test. The validity of the instrument using content validity and construct validity. The validity of the formula is calculated by Pearson Product Moment. Reliability is calculated with the formula KR-20. Analysis of the data in this study using t-test.Based on the results of t-test analysis of the data shows  that tobtained greater than ttable(3.041> 2.003) with significance level α = 0.05. This means that there is a difference in learning achievement German reading skills between the experimental class and the control class. The average value of the post-test experimental class was 29.034 higher than the average value of the post-test control class is 27.241. The weight of the effectiveness of 7.38%, so it can be concluded that Cooperative Learning techniques of Question Student Have effective in the learning of reading in German.
