THE EFFECTIVENESS OF SNOWBALL THROWING METHOD IN THE TEACHING OF THE GERMAN GRAMMAR FOR XI GRADE STUDENTS OF SMAN1 SEYEGAN SLEMAN

Abstract

The objectives of this study are to find (1) the diferences of the ability of the German grammatic between tought by Snowball Throwing Method and by conventional method, (2) the effectiveness of Snowball Throwing Method in the teaching of the German grammatic. The population of the data is all of the students of the XI SMA Negeri 1 Seyegan Sleman with the number of the population is 186 students. The technique of the selected sample using random sampling. The result of random sampling obtained class of XI IPA 1 with the number is 30 students as experiment class. Class of XI IPA 2 with the number is 30 students as control class. The reliability was tested using Alpha Cronbach form that showed r11 = 0,919. The data in this research were analyzed by t-test. of this research is Snowball Throwing method can be applied in the teaching of the German grammatic. The teaching by using Snowball Throwing method is more effective than the teaching by using conventional method.
