THE EFFECTIVENESS OF THE TOTAL PHYSICAL RESPONSE METHOD IN THE GERMAN LISTENING SKILLS FOR THE SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL ONE OF JETIS BANTUL

Abstract


This study aims to determine (1) the significant differences learning achievement in the German listening skills for the XI grade students of senior high school one of Jetis Bantul between Total Physical Response rather than the conventional method. (2) the effectiveness of the Total Physical Response method in German listening skills. This type of research is a quasi experiment. Sampling technique using simple random sampling. Test the validity using the Product moment correlation. Reliability coefficient of 0.9. The results showed t count 3,230 ist greater than t table (at 2.021), at the level of α = 0.5. It can be concluded that the use of method Total Physical Response in learning the German language in listening skills is more effective than the conventional method. Post-test results of both groups showed that the mean of the experimental group while the control group at 28,217 and 27,2 of the weight of the effectiveness of 8,07%.
