LANGUAGE STYLE IN FRIEDRICH VON SCHILLER’S “AN DIE FREUDE”

Abstract


This study aims to describe the kinds of styles of language which is used in the poem An die Freude by Friedrich von Schiller. Data source is thepoemAn die Freude by friedrich von schiller. Datawere analyzedwith observation and reading techniques. Technik of data analysis is descriptive qualitative. Validity is gotten by expert-judgment. Reliability is intrarater and interrater. Result of study(1) there are three kinds of style of language that is used in this study, they are a) comparison of language style includes Metaphor which consists of 26 sentences, Personification consists of 18 sentences, hyperbole consists of 12 sentences, comparison consists of 4 sentences, metonymie consists of 11 sentences and sinekdoke consists of 5 sentences; b) There is only one specific language style in the language style of contention, it is paradox which is consist 4 sentences; c) Affirmation of style language includes parallelism consists of 6 sentences, pleonasm consists of 4 sentences and tautology consists of 3 sentences.
