THE CONFLICT OF THE CHARACTERS OF DER ZERBROCHENE KRUG BY HEINRICH VON KLEIST

Abstract


The objectives of this research are to describe of conflict, and causes of conflict experienced by the characters of Der Zerbrochene Krug by Heinrich von Kleist. Data source of this study is Der Zerbrochene Krug script by Heinrich von Kleist in 1802. Data obtained by reading and recording techniques. Data were analyzed using qualitative descriptive analysis techniques. The validity of the data in this study was obtained through consideration of validity and reliability. The results of this study were (1) Being a character in a play conflict Der Krug Zerbrochene consists of internal conflict and external conflict. Internal conflicts consist of anxiety and sadness. The external conflict consists of Adam’s lie, Adam’s panic, anger and arguing. (2) The cause of the conflict is the pressure that befall the characters, the misunderstanding, the presence of aberrant acts, the fear of punishment that threatens the existence of abuse of office, the existence of truth are revealed, and the differences of opinion.
