AN ERROR ANALYSIS IN THE STUDENTS’ WRITING OF SMA NEGERI I SEYEGAN, SLEMAN

Abstract


This research is aimed to describes the morphological, morphosyntactical and syntactical error in the students’ writing of SMA Negeri 1 Seyegan, Sleman. It is a kind of descriptive-qualitative research. It takes the linguistic units (such as: morphemes, words, phrases and sentences) which have kind of error (mentioned above) as the research objects. The data has been taken through a writing test in german language on XII- graded students IPS 2. The writer used metode agih to analyse taken data. The validity of data is proven by reliability test of intrarater and interrater. The result of research shows that there are: (1) 21 morphological error (13,9%) which is shown in word- compounding, (2) morphosyntactical error 85 data (56,3%) which shown in two cases, those are in verb-conjugating 42 data (27,9%) and adjective-declinating 43 data (28,4%), (3) syntactical error 45 data (29,8%) contained statement-compounding 36 data (23,84%) and imperative-making 9 data (5,96%). There are some factors causing those kind an error, they are the language rule of use between Bahasa Indonesia and german language, the competence of students in mastering languages and their own mother tongue self.
