THE ERROR ANALYSIS OF THE STUDENTS’ GERMAN WRITING OF GRADE XI IPA 1 CLASS OF SMA N 2 PURWOREJO

Abstract


The aim of this research is to know and describe the language error in the aspect of morphology, morphosyntax, syntax, lexicology, and orthography in German language writing by the students of Nature Science Program 1 Class XI in 

SMAN 2 Purworejo, Central Java.This research is a kind of qualitative research. The population in this research is all the students in the Class XI, and as a sample thirty student were chosen by using Accidental Sampling technique. The data is taken by a test of German writing. The result of this research shows that totally errors are 1132 (100%) errors. (1) The error aspect in morphology is 21 (1,8%), namely in combining the words, (2) in morphosyntax there are 289 (25,5%) errors, namely 91 (8,0%) errors in changing the verb word (conjugation) and 198 (17,4%) errors in declination, (3) in syntax there are 100 (8,8%) errors, namely in positioning the word of a news clause, (4) in lexicology there are 241 (21,2%) errors, namely 126 (11,1%) errors in choosing the noun words, 67 (5,9%) errors in choosing the verb words, 21 (1,8%) errors in choosing the adjective words, 24 (2,1%) errors in choosing preposition and 3 (0,2%) errors in choosing the connector words, (5) in orthography there are 481 (42,4%) errors, namely 256 (22,6%) errors in writing the capital words, 75 (6,6%) errors in putting the punctuation, 14 (1,2%) errors in writing the Umlaut, 10 (0,8%) errors in making split, 64 (5,6%) errors in omission, 13 (1,1%) errors in addition, and 49 (4,3%) errors in writing a word. The cause of these errors are the performance and competence factor, then the source of these errors are interference and intralingual.
