THE GERMAN REFLEXIVE VERBS IN CAROLIN PHILIPPS’S TRӒUME WOHNEN ÜBERALL AND ITS EQUIVALENTS IN BAHASA INDONESIA

Abstract


This study aims to describe (1) the form of German reflexive verb in “Trӓume Wohnen Überall” and its Indonesian equivalent in “Mimpi Selalu Indah” and (2) the meaning of German reflexive verb in “Trӓume Wohnen Überall” and its Indonesian equivalent in “Mimpi Selalu Indah”. This type of research was a qualitative descriptive. Data collection was taken through read-note technique. Data analysis is using translational equivalent method and distributional method. The result showed that there were three types of German reflexive verb in “Trӓume Wohnen Überall” and its Indonesian equivalent in “Mimpi Selalu Indah”: (1) true reflexive verb 110, (2) construction reflexive verb 250, (3) reciprocal verb 13. There are 5 types of equivalent meaning of German in Indonesian, i.e.: (1)reflexive verb with active meaning, (2) reflexive verb with passive meaning, (3) reflexive verb with reflexive meaning, (4) reflexive verb with reciprocal meaning, (5) reflexive verb with zero meaning.
