PENERAPAN KODE ETIK JURNALISTIK TERHADAP ISI PEMBERITAAN COVID-19 DI SURAT KABAR SOLOPOS EDISI 23 MARET-23 APRIL 2020

Abstrak

            Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penerapan kode etik jurnalistik media massa lokal daerah dalam pemberitaan covid-19. Kode Etik Jurnalistik merupakan landasan moral atau etika profesi untuk menjalankan operasional jurnalistik. fokus utama penelitian ini yaitu kasus pemberitaan covid-19 pada rubrik berita utama edisi 23 Maret-27 April 2020 dikarenakan pemberitaan covid-19 meningkat pesat dimedia massa cetak dan online, kemudian dengan fokus utama pasal 3 & 7 KEJ. Penelitian Ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data analisis isi teknik filling (pengkategorian) sesuai dengan indikator pasal 3 & 7 KEJ. Penelitian ini menggunakan 20 sampel berita dalam rubrik berita utama karya jurnalistik wartawan Solopos. Analisis data yang digunakan pada penelitian ini menggunakan model Miles & Huberman yaitu pengumpulan data, reduksi data, dan verification. Hasil penelitan menunjukan bahwa (1) Harian Solopos sudah menerapkan KEJ hal ini dibuktikan dengan penyajian berita yang secara umum lebih banyak menerapkan pasal 7, namun masih terjadi beberapa kali ketidakseimbangan pada pasal 3. (2) berdasarkan hasil koding, Harian Solopos edisi 23Maret-27 April 2020 sebagai media massa bersifat lokal telah melaksanakan fungsinya dalam memberikan informasi, mendidik, persuasif, menghibur pembaca. (3) berdasarkan hasil koding pelanggaran KEJ Harian Solopos edisi 23Maret-27 April 2020 pelanggaran paling banyak terjadi pada indikator keberimbangan berita, hal ini terjadi berdasarkan sebelas dari dua puluh berita ditemukan terdapat pelanggaran. Terdapat pelanggaran dengan proporsi minor terjadi pada indikator menguji informasi sebanyak lima berita dan indikator tidak mencampurkan fakta dan opini menghakimi sebanyak satu berita.

Abstract

            This study aims to detemine the implementation of the journalist code of ethics for local print massa media in the reporting of covid-19 . The Journalist Code of Ethics (KEJ) is the moral foundation or the profesional code of conduct for journalistic operation. The main focus of this research is the case of covid-19 news in the main news rubric of the March 23-April 27, 2020 with the locus of article 3 & 7 of the Journalistic Code of Ethics. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative with content analysis data (categorization) in accordance with the indicator article 3&7 of the KEJ. This study uses 20 news in the main news rubric of the journalist work of Solopos journalist. This study’s data was analyzed using the Miles & Huberman models, namely data collection, data reduction and data verification. The result of this research show that (1) Solopos Daily has implemented the journalistic Code of Ethics, this is evidenced by the presentation of news wich generally applies article 7 more, but there are still several imbalances in article 3, (2) based on coding results, Solopos Daily issues 23 March-27April 2020 as local mass media has fully carried out its function in providing information, educating, persuasive, entertaining audiences, (3) based on coding results, the violations of the Solopos Daily KEJ edition on 23th of the March-27 April 2020 was most violations that ever happened in the news balance indicator. This is can be happened because eleven out of twenty reports found that there were violations. There are minor violations that occur in the indicator test information as much as five news and the indicator of does not mix facts and judgemental opinions as much as one news.
