Abstract


Abstrak

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui nilai besar kecepatan bunyi di udara menggunakan metode Time Difference ofArrival (TDOA) dan metode Echo-Based Speed of Sound Determination serta mengetahui perbandingan hasil pengukuran yang diperoleh dari kedua metode. Pada metode TDOA, loudspeaker digunakan sebagai sumber bunyi dan microphone berfungsi sebagai receiver yang diberi variasi jarak. Variasi jarak menghasilkan time delay yang akan ditampilkan di layar oscilloscope. Metode Echo-Based Speed of Sound Determination menggunakan sumber bunyi diskrit yang dibangkitkan software Matlab R2008a dan loudspeaker. Microphone yang sebidang dengan loudspeaker menangkap gelombang bunyi yang dipantulkan papan pemantul dan selanjutnya ditampilkan oleh personal computer yang telah ter-install software Audacity 2.1.2. Metode TDOA menghasilkan nilai besar kecepatan bunyi di udara dan ketidakpastian sebesar (346.1± 0.3) m/s, sedangkan pada metode Echo-Based Speed of Sound Determination diperoleh nilai sebesar (346.5 ± 0.6) m/s.

Abstract

This research aimed to know the speed of sound in air by using Time Difference ofArrival (TDOA) method and Echo-Based Speed of Sound Determination method and to compare the measurement results produced by both methods. In TDOA method, loudspeaker was used as sound source and microphone as a receiver at various distances. Distance variations produced time delay that would be displayed in oscilloscope’s screen. Echo-Based Speed of Sound Determination method was using discrete sound source generated by Matlab R2008asoftware and loudspeaker. Microphone placed in the same plane with loudspeaker received sound waves reflected by a reflector wall and then displayed by a personal computer with installed  Audacity 2.1.2 software. The speed of sound in air resulted by TDOA method was (346.1± 0.3) m/s and(346.5 ± 0.6) m/sby Echo-Based Speed of Sound Determination.
