Abstract


Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh variasi frekuensi putaran blender dan pengaruh surfaktan jenis LAS pada sampel nanomaterial dengan bahan dasar karbon tri graphite pensil 2B Faber Castell menggunakan metode liquid mechanical exfoliation terhadap hasil karakterisasi spektrofotometer UV-Vis, XRD, dan mengetahui bentuk permukaan sampel dengan karakterisasi SEM.
Penelitian dimulai dengan membuat sampel nanomaterial berbahan dasar tri graphite pensil 2B Faber Castell yang telah dihaluskan, air, dan surfaktan ke dalam blender. Sampel kemudian dicampur dengan memvariasikan frekuensi putaran pada blender. Sampel lain yang dibuat adalah sampel tanpa surfaktan dengan perlakuan sama. Sampel kemudian disentrifus dan dikarakterisasi dengan spektrofotometer UV-Vis, sedangkan sampel yang dikarakterisasi XRD dan SEM tidak perlu disentrifus.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan semakin besar frekuensi putaran blender, maka nilai absorbansi pada karakterisasi spektrofotometer UV-Vis semakin menurun dan nilai d-spacing pada karakterisasi XRD semakin membesar. Hasil absorbansi pada karakterisasi spektrofotometer UV-Vis sampel tanpa surfaktan semakin menurun dengan nilai absorbansi lebih besar daripada sampel dengan surfaktan dan beberapa sampel tidak terjadi absorbansi. Hasil karakterisasi XRD pada sampel tanpa surfaktan memiliki nilai d-spacing yang semakin membesar tetapi tidak lebih besar dari nilai d-spacing sampel yang menggunakan surfaktan. Hasil karakterisasi SEM menunjukkan sampel memiliki bentuk flakes atau kepingan-kepingan tipis dengan permukaan yang tampak terkelupas.

This research aimed to understand the effect of variations in the frequency of blender rotation and the effect of surfactant type of LAS on samples of carbon nanomaterial based on tri graphite 2B Faber Castell pencils using liquid mechanical exfoliation methods toward the results of the UV-Vis spectrophotometer characterization, XRD characterization, and know the form of the sample surface using SEM characterization.
The study began with making a sample of carbon nanomaterial based on tri graphite 2B Faber Castell pencil that has been mashed, water, and surfactant in the blender. Then, the sample was mixed with varying the frequency of rotation on the blender. Additional samples made were the samples without surfactant with the same treatment. Samples were then centrifuged and characterized by using UV-Vis spectrophotometer, while samples characterized by XRD and SEM do not need to be centrifuged.
The results showed that the greater the frequency of blender rotation, the smaller the absorbance value and on the other hand, the greater the frequency of blender rotation, the higher the d-spacing value. The absorbance value of the sample without surfactant decreased slightly with absorbance values greater than the sample with surfactant and some samples did not show absorbance. XRD characterization results on the sample without surfactant have d-spacing values that were higher, but not greater than the value of d-spacing samples using surfactant. SEM characterization results showed that samples had the form of flakes or pieces of thin surface that looked chipped.
