Comparison Of Canny Edge Detection Analysis Techniques With Image Raster Software Of Optilab Camera Microscope On Measurement Of Core Diameter Of Polymer Optical Fiber Type SH.4001-1.3

Abstract


Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui cara mengukur diameter core serat optik plastik tipe SH.4001-1.3 menggunakan digital image processing melalui metode Canny edge detection serta membandingkan hasilnya dengan pengukuran menggunakan imaging software Image Raster pada Optilab Camera Microscope. Serat optik yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu serat optik plastik tipe SH.4001-1.3. Citra serat optik diambil menggunakan Optilab Camera Microscope seri Advance dengan dua variasi perbesaran lensa objektif mikroskop yaitu 4x dan 10x. Pengukuran diameter core serat optik plastik SH.4001-1.3 dilakukan dengan dua metode yakni pengukuran langsung dengan imaging software Image Raster dan analisis image processing: Canny edge detection. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, diperoleh nilai diameter core serat optik plastik tipe SH.4001-1.3 menggunakan digital image processing melalui metode Canny edge detection sebesar (982 ± 2) μm. Pengkuran diameter core serat optik plastik tipe SH.4001-1.3 menggunakan imaging software Image Raster menghasilkan nilai (982 ± 6) μm dan ukuran diameter core serat optik SH.4001-1.3 berdasarkan datasheet yaitu 980 μm. Pengukuran melalui metode Canny edge detection memberikan hasil yang relatif lebih akurat dibandingkan dengan pengukuran menggunakan imaging software Image Raster karena metode Canny edge detection memberikan batasan-batasan yang jelas tentang tepi antara core dan cladding. Abstract This study aimed to find out how to measure the diameter of SH.4001-1.3 polymer optical fiber core by using digital image processing through Canny edge detection method and comparing the results with measurement usingImage Raster on Optilab Camera Microscope. Optical fiber that was used in this research was polymer optical fiber type SH.4001-1.3. Optical fiber image was taken using Optilab Camera Microscope Advance series with two variation of lens magnification objective lens which were 4x and 10x. Measurement of diameter core polymer optical fiber SH.4001-1.3 was done using the image stored in laptop computer and with two methods which were direct measurement with imaging software(Image Raster) and image processing analysis: Canny edge detection. Based on the research result obtained, the value of diameter of polymer optical fiber SH.4001-1.3’s core using Canny edge detection was (982 ± 2) μm. The measurement result usingImage Raster was (982± 6) μm and the diameter of SH.4001-1.3 polymer optical fiber based on datasheet was 980 μm. The measurement using digital image processing through the Canny edge detection method provided relatively more accurate result than the measurement using Image Raster because Canny edge detection method provided clear boundaries of the edge between the core and cladding.
