PENGEMBANGAN GAME EDUKATIF RPG SEBAGAI KOMPLEMEN PEMBELAJARAN TEMATIK PERISTIWA ALAM UNTUK KELAS I SDN JARANAN YOGYAKARTA

Abstrak
Tujuan penelitian pengembangan ini adalah mendeskripsikan langkah sistematis pengembangan game edukatif RPG tentang peristiwa alama serta mendeskripsikan tingkat validitas dan kualitasnya. Model pegembangannya yaitu model ADDIE dari Robert Maribe Branch lalu dimodifikasi pada tahapan development menggunakan waterfall dari Roger S. Pressman. Hasil penelitian pengembangan dideskripsikan langkah-langkah sistematis pengembangan game: 1) analysis; (a) analisis tujuan dan karakteristik bidang studi; (b) analisis metode penyampaian dan kendala bidang studi; (c) analisis karakteristik peserta didik. 2) Design; (a) penyusunan content; (b) penyusunan skenario permainan; (c) penyusunan kemasan; (d) penyusunan instrument. 3) Development; (a) pembuatan interface game; (b) coding; (c) testing; (d) pemaketan game; (e) design character and background; (f) review ahli materi dan ahli media; (g) pilot test. 4) Implementation; (a) mempersiapkan guru dan siswa; (b) uji coba pemakaian. 5) evaluation; (a) evaluasi formatif; (b) evaluasi sumatif. Tingkat validitas game edukatif berbasis RPG dengan tema peristiwa alam. 1) review ahli materi memperoleh skor 3,12 (sedang); 2) review ahli media tahap final mendapat skor rata-rata 3,23 dengan kategori (sedang); 3) pilot test respon pengamatan siswa memperoleh skor 3,37 (tinggi); 4) pilot test respon guru memperoleh skor 3,17 (sedang); 5) uji coba pemakaian respon pengamatan siswa memperoleh skor 3,00 (sedang); 6) uji coba pemakaian respon guru memperoleh skor 3,64 (tinggi).

DEVELOPING AN EDUCATIONAL RPG GAME FOR LEARNING COMPLEMENT ON NATURAL EVENTS THEME FOR FIRST GRADE STUDENTS IN SDN JARANAN YOGYAKARTA

Abstract
This research and development is aimed at describing the systematic steps for the development of educational games for Role Playing Games as a learning complement on natural events theme and describing the level of validity and quality of educational RPG games. This research used the ADDIE model development method from Robert Maribe Branch which is then modified in the development stage using the waterfall model of Roger S. Pressman. The results of the development research describe the systematic steps of developing RPG educational games about natural events: 1) analysis; (a) analysis of the objectives and the the field of study characteristics; (b) analysis of delivery methods and constraints found in the field of study; (c) analysis of the students characteristics. 2) Design; (a) content preparation; (b) game scenarios preparation; (c) packaging preparation; (d) instruments preparation. 3) Development; (a) designing game interfaces; (b) coding; (c) testing; (d) game packaging; (e) designing character and background; (f) reviewing the material experts and media experts; (g) pilot testing. 4) Implementation; (a) teachers and students preparation; (b) trial use. 5) Evaluation; (a) Formative evaluation; (b) summative evaluation. The validity level of the educational RPG games based on in the natural events theme. 1) the results of the review by material experts were at score of 3.12 (moderate); 2) the results of a review by media experts in the final stage were at average score of 3.23 with (moderate) category; 3) the pilot test for students response were at score of 3.37 (high); 4) the pilot test for teacher response were at score of 3.17 (medium); 5) trial use for students’ response to were at score of 3.00 (moderate); 6) trial use for teacher response were at score of 3.64 (high).
