Abstract

This final project aims to realize the design of a series of hardware and software and to know the performance of a smart farming design on the cultivation of earthworms lumbricus rubellus using arduino UNO. This tool serves to help the earthworm farmers to monitor and condition temperature and humidity and know the age of worms that have been cultivated. The method used in making the Smart Farming Design tool on the cultivation of earthworms lumbricus rubellus using Arduino UNO consisting of several stages, namely (1) identification of needs, (2) needs analysis, (3) system design, (4) software design , (5) tool making, and (6) tool testing. This tool uses several components such as Arduino as a controller, FC-28 for detecting soil moisture, DHT 11 for detecting air temperature, LCD for viewer measurement media, and relay for control of fan and water pump. Based on the results of tests that have been done can be seen that the performance of smart farming design on the cultivation of earthworms lumbricus rubellus using arduino UNOas the quality of the tool can work well. While the test per component obtained average error measurement of temperature of 1.37% of the temperature measurement range 15-32oC, humidity of 1.84% of the range of humidity measurements 15-60%, and LCD display does not experience constraints. The quality of temperature and humidity measurements of this tool can be improved by using a better sensor.
