IMPLEMENTASI TEACHING FACTORY MENURUT PERSEPSI PENGELOLA DI SMK NEGERI 1 MAGELANG

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui sejauh mana implementasi teaching factory dan mengetahui faktor penghambat dan pendukung dalam melaksanakan implementasi teaching factory menurut persepsi pengelola di SMK Negeri 1 Magelang pada Program Keahlian Teknik Mesin. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Subjek penelitian adalah Kepala SMK Negeri 1 Magelang, Ketua jurusan teknik mesin, Kepala Unit Produksi teknik mesin, dan Kepala bengkel teknik mesin. Data penelitian dikumpulkan dengan metode observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa implementasi teaching factory menurut persepsi pengelola di SMK Negeri 1 Magelang berjalan dengan baik dan penerapan dari aspek yang ada mencapai 90%. Faktor penghambat adalah penjadwalan proses produksi yang belum susai, penggunaan alat yang belum memenuhi rasio satu alat satu siswa, maintenance, repair, and calibration (MRC) yang belum ada, pemberian informasi produk tidak ada, dan pendistribusian produk tidak dikirim langsung ke konsumen. Faktor pendukung adalah manajemen yang sudah baik, ada hubungan dengan industri, sumber daya manusia yang kompeten, dan sarana dan prasarana yang mendukung.

The purpose of this research is to know how extent the implementation of teaching factory and knowing the inhibiting factor and supporting factor in implementing teaching factory according to manager’s perception in SMK Negeri 1 Magelang on Mechanical Engineering Expertise Program. This research is a qualitative descriptive research. The subjects of this research are Head of SMK Negeri 1 Magelang, Head of Mechanical Engineering Department, Head of UP of Mechanical Engineering, and Head of Mechanical Engineering Workshop. The data research was collected by observation method, interview, and documentation. Research results show that implementation of teaching factory according to manager’s perception in SMK Negeri 1 Magelang presumably run well and implementationof existing aspects reaches 90%. Obstacle factors are scheduling of production processes that are not yet appropriate, use of tools that have not met the ratio of one machine to one student, maintenance, repair, and calibration (MRC) that does not yet exist, no product information is provided, and product distribution is not sent directly to consumers. Supporting factors are good management, there are relationship with industries,  competent human resources, and supporting facilities and infrastructure.
