IMPROVING THE GERMAN READING SKILL OF THE GRADE XI STUDENTS OF SMAN 2 PURWOREJO THROUGH PQ4R METHOD

Abstract


The purpose of this research is to improve (1) achievement German reading skills of students of grade XI at SMAN 2 Purworejo in learning German reading skills through a PQ4R method, and (2) the activeness of students of grade XI at SMAN 2 Purworejo through a PQ4R method. This research is Classroom Action Research. The strategy is determined collaboratively between researcher and teacher. The subjects are students of grade XI at SMAN 2 Purworejo. The research data is analyzed by descriptive-qualitative. This classroom action research consisted of two cycles. Each action consists of planning, action, observation and reflection. The results showed that (1) there is an increase learning achievement in German reading skills learners in grade XI IPS 2 SMAN 2 Purworejo through methods PQ4R method reaches 26%, and (2) there is an increase in the activity of students in grade XI IPS 2 SMAN 2 Purworejo in learning German reading skills through PQ4R method reaches 45,92% .
