Abstract


Abstract Teachers who had a high level of physical fitness were expected to have a low morbidity. But, in reality there were many teachers who had such low fitness levels however, the morbidity rate was also low. This research discussed the correlation of the physical fitness and the morbidity rate. The research objective was to find out whether there was a correlation of the physical fitness and the morbidity rate of the teachers in SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Wates. The research was a correlational study. The population was the teachers of SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Wates. The sample was the entire population (the sample population), amounting to 53 teachers. The instruments and the data collection techniques used two items, namely the multi- stage fitness test for measuring the level of physical fitness and for the morbidity rate it was obtained administratively by noting how many times the teacher did not teach with the reason of suffered from some illness during the second half of the past. The data analysis techniques were using non-parametric analysis of Spearman Rank correlation with the significance level of 5%. These results indicated that no correlation between the score of the physical fitness with morbidity rate of the teachers in SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Wates. Keywords: Physical Fitness, Morbidity
