Gap The Series: peran media terhadap persepsi hingga solidaritas fandom lesbian di Indonesia

Media memiliki peran besar dalam mempengaruhi hadirnya media massa. Berkaitan dengan itu viralnya serial GAP: The Series menjadi fenomena yang menarik untuk diteliti. GAP The Series merupakan serial Girls Lover Thailand pertama yang berhasil menarik perhatian beberapa negara termasuk Indonesia. Dalam kajian ini melihat bagaimana budaya viralitas dan media saling berkaitan yang tentunya  berpengaruh terhadap persepsi masyarakat Indonesia baik bagi mereka yang awalnya tidak tahu maupun yang sudah berada di komunitas tersebut kemudian menjadi suka dan membentuk fandom. Melalui pendekatan kualitatif, analisis konten media peneliti melihat ada indikator  perubahan dalam persepsi secara umum, keterlibatan kelompok marginal secara khusus, dan solidaritas di antara fandom lesbian pada segmentasi khusus GAP The Series. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa media ini tidak hanya mempengaruhi pandangan masyarakat tetapi juga memainkan peran penting dalam memperkuat identitas dan solidaritas kelompok tersebut.

Abstract

The media has a big role in influencing the presence of mass media. In this regard, the virality of the GAP: The Series series is an interesting phenomenon to research. GAP The Series is the first Thai Girls Lover series that has managed to attract the attention of several countries including Indonesia. In this study, we look at how virality culture and media are interrelated, which of course affects the perception of Indonesian society, both for those who initially do not know and those who are already in the community, then become likes and form a fandom. Through a qualitative approach, the researcher analyzed media content and saw that there were indicators of changes in perception in general, the involvement of marginalized groups in particular, and solidarity among lesbian fandoms in the special segmentation of GAP The Series. The findings show that this media not only influences people's views but also plays an important role in strengthening the identity and solidarity of the group.
