Abstrak

            Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui strategi negosiasi peran gender suami istri yang terjadi dalam keluarga “Pamong Praja”. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data yaitu melalui wawancara mendalam. Dalam penentuan informan menggunakan teknik purpossive sampling, yang dihasilkan berupa tiga pasangan suami istri keluarga “Pamong Praja”. Teknik keabsahan data menggunakan teknik trianggulasi sumber, sedangkan teknik analisa data menggunakan model Miles and Huberman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa diskusi, keterbukaan dengan menyampaikan perasaan satu sama lain, kerjasama, toleransi, dan mencari solusi bersama merupakan negosiasi peran gender yang dilakukan oleh ketiga pasangan keluarga “Pamong Praja” yang akhirnya menghasilkan kesepakatan pembagian peran gender dalam keluarga. Dalam melakukan negosiasi, pasangan suami dan istri saling bergantung satu sama lain, saling menyesuaikan perubahan, dan menciptakan nilai bahwa setuju untuk melakukan perubahan peran gender demi terpenuhinya kebutuhan ekonomi, anak, dan kebutuhan sosial lainnya. Pada awal perubahan peran gender, ketiga suami kesulitan menggantikan peran istri khususnya dalam hal pengasuhan anak. Hal inilah yang menimbulkan konflik dalam keluarga. Konflik diselesaikan dengan strategi openness dan collaborative sehingga menimbulkan perasaan yang sama untuk saling memahami satu sama lain. Ketiga pasangan suami istri memahami bahwa pertukaran yang terjadi atas dasar keikhlasan, kerelaan, dan kebutuhan keluarga yang harus dipenuhi. Sehingga proses negosiasi dapat lebih mudah untuk dijalankan.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the negotiation strategy of husband and wife gender roles that occur in the "Pamong Praja" family. This study uses a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. The data collection technique is through in-depth interviews. In determining the informants using a purposive sampling technique, the results are three married couples from the "Pamong Praja" family. The data validity technique used the source triangulation technique, while the data analysis technique used the Miles and Huberman model. The results showed that discussion, openness by conveying feelings to each other, cooperation, tolerance, and finding joint solutions were gender role negotiations carried out by the three "Pamong Praja" family couples which eventually resulted in an agreement on the division of gender roles in the family. In negotiating, husband and wife depend on each other, adjust to changes, and create value that agree to change gender roles in order to meet economic needs, children, and other social needs. At the beginning of the change in gender roles, the three husbands found it difficult to replace the wife's role, especially in terms of child care. This causes conflict in the family. Conflicts are resolved with openness and collaborative strategies so that they cause the same feeling to understand each other. The three married couples understand that exchanges that occur on the basis of sincerity, willingness, and family needs must be met. So that the negotiation process can be easier to run.
