EFEK ZUMBA TERHADAP PENURUNAN TEBAL LEMAK BAWAH KULIT DAN BERAT BADAN MEMBER DF FITNESS DAN AEROBIC

Abstract


Abstrak
Zumba merupakan salah satu alternatif aktivitas olahraga yang sedang digemari saat ini. Hampir setiap
fitness center maupun sanggar senam menawarkan kelas zumba. Namun belum diketahui efek zumba terhadap
tercapainya tujuan dari program latihan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efek zumba terhadap penurunan
tebal lemak bawah kulit dan beratbadan member DF Fitness dan Aerobic. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian quasi
eksperimen dengan desain one group pre test-post test design. Populasi dari penelitian adalah 50 member DF
Fitness dan Aerobic yang mengikuti kelas zumba, sampel yang digunakan sebanyak 15 member, perlakuan program
latihan zumba sebanyak 16 kali pertemuan dengan frekuensi 3 kali dalam seminggu dengan intensitas sedang
sampai tinggi. Pengambilan data menggunakan pengukuran dengan Skinfold untuk variabel lemak bawah kulit,
serta timbangan berat badan untuk variabel berat badan. Teknik analisis data menggunakan analisis uji-t, melalui
uji prasyarat normalitas dan homogenitas. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa: (1) terdapat efek yang signifikan
zumba terhadap penurunan tebal lemak bawah kulit yang terletak pada biceps, triceps, subscapula, dan suprailiaca
member DF Fitness dan Aerobic, (2) terdapat efek yang signifikan zumba terhadap penurunan berat badan member
DF Fitness dan Aerobic.

Abstract
Zumba is one of alternative sports activities which is popular today. Almost every fitness center and
gymnasium is offering zumba class. However, zumba’s effect on the attainment of the objectives of the exercise
program is not identified yet to. This study aims to determine zumba’s effect on the decrease of the thickness
subcutaneous fat and weight of DF Fitness and Aerobic’s member. This research is a quasi-experimental research
using one group pretest-posttest design. Population of the study is 50 DF Fitness and Aerobic’s members taking
zumba class, and the samples are 15 members. Zumba exercise program is held for 16 sessions with the frequency
of three times in a week with a moderate to high intensity. The data collection is using skinfold measurement for the
variable of thicksubcutaneous fat, and using weight scales for variable weight. Data were analyzed using t-test
analysis, through the prerequisite test for normality and homogeneity.The results show that: (1) there is a
significant effect zumba to the decline in the thick subcutaneous fat thatlieson the biceps, triceps, subscapula, and
suprailiaca DF Fitness and Aerobic’s members, (2) there is a significant effect zumba on weight loss DF Fitness
and Aerobic’s members.
