DAMPAK PARIWISATA TERHADAP KONDISI SOSIAL DAN EKONOMI PENDUDUK SEKITAR LOKASI WISATA AIR TERJUN KEDUNG PEDUT DI DUSUN KEMBANG, DESA JATIMULYO, KECAMATAN GIRIMULYO, KABUPATEN KULONPROGO
Abstract
The purpose of this research was to determine 1) The potential for tourism in Kedung
Pedut Waterfall in Kembang Hamlet, 2) The impact of tourism on the social conditions of the
population around at the Kembang Hamlet, 3) The impact of tourism on the economic
conditions of the population around at the Kembang Hamlet.
This research is a quantitative descriptive, the population in this research are heads
of households in the Kembang Hamlet (145 heads of households), manager of the tourist sites
(17 person), and tourists. The sample in this research amounts are 59 heads of household,
the sampling method in this research is purposive sampling, tour manager with amounts are
17 person, and tourists with amounts are 30 person using quota sampling. Data was
collected through observation, interviews and documentation. Data processing techniques
include editing, coding and tabulation. Data analysis techniques using frequency tables.
The results showed that as: 1) the potential of tourism include, (a) accessibility,
condition of the road leading to the tourist sites is bad, because the asphalt is damaged and
the road up and down, (b) infrastructure tourism (power supply, water, telecommunications
networks, and banks) already available, (c) travel agent is not available, while the homestay
is available, 2) the impact of tourism on the social conditions include, (a) the procedures for
the association, there are changes using language that is 91.53% using a mixture of
(Indonesian and Java) and changes in manners and politeness is change 20.34% to less well
(b) there has been no significant changing in population structure (c) the form of
environmental preservation showed 81.36% of the population in the mutual help maintain
cleanliness around tourist sites and planting plants around the waterfall, (d) 84.75 said
security conditions safe. 3) the impact of tourism on economic conditions include, (a) the
biggest change occurred on the type of work hawkers and employees in tourist locations with
a percentage of 22.03%, (b) changes in revenue occurred at 79.66% and revenues occurred
in income range from 400.000 to 880.000, (c) occurs a development of other sectors, that is
the homestay and stalls, (d) changes in prices occurred in the prices of food and beverages
with a percentage of 52.24%.
