Abstrak
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pengelolaan promosi
perpustakaan di Kantor Arsip dan Perpustakaan Kabupaten Klaten. Penelitian ini
merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dengan Kepala Perpustakaan, Kepala Seksi
Perpustakaan, dan Pustakawan sebagai sumber informasi. Teknik pengumpulan data
menggunakan wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi. Pemeriksaan keabsahan data
menggunakan triangulasi sumber dan metode. Data dianalisis dengan tahapan
pengumpulan data, reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil
penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Perencanaan promosi perpustakaan dilaksanakan
melalui kegiatan perumusan tujuan promosi, penentuan sasaran dan lokasi, pengadaan
sarana prasarana, penentuan waktu dan pelaksanaan promosi, penentuan kebutuhan
SDM, dan perumusan kebutuhan anggaran. (2) Pengorganisasian promosi perpustakaan
meliputi kegiatan penentuan pekerjaan, penempatan SDM dan pelimpahan wewenang.
(3) Pengkoordinasian promosi perpustakaan dilakukan dengan pengarahan tenaga kerja,
pengintegrasian tenaga kerja, dan penyelarasan tenaga kerja dengan kegiatan promosi.
(4) Pengendalian promosi perpustakaan meliputi kegiatan penyusunan standar dan
ukuran pelaksanaan, penilaian kegiatan promosi, penganalisaan hambatan, dan
tindakan koreksi.

Abstract
This study aimed to describe the management of library promotion at Klaten
archive offices and library. This research is a qualitative descriptive study with the Head
of Library, Head of Libraries and Librarians as information sources. Data collection
technique using interviews, observation and documentation. Examination of the validity
of the data using data sources triangulation and methods. Data were analyzed by stage
of data collection, data reduction, data display, and conclusion. The results showed that:
(1) Planning promotional activities carried out through the formulation of library
promotional purposes, targeting and location, provision of infrastructure, the timing and
execution of promotions, determining human resource needs, and budget formulation
needs. (2) Organizing library promotion activities include the determination of the work,
and to authorize the placement of human resources. (3) Coordinating the promotion
done by the direction of the library workforce, labor integration, and alignment of the
workforce with promotional activities. (4) Control of library promotion activities include
preparation of standards and implementation measures, assessment of promotional
activities, analyzing barriers, and corrective actions.
