EFEKTIVITAS METODE REWARD UNTUK MENINGKATKAN MOTIVASI BELAJAR PESERTA DIDIK DI SMK NEGERI 3 YOGYAKARTA

Jenis penelitian ini adalah eksperimen. Desain penelitian adalah eksperimen semu (quasi experimental) dengan desain ex post facto, yang dilaksanakan pada bulan awal Mei 2017 sampai awal Juni 2017. Tempat penelitian di SMK Negeri 3 Yogyakarta. Teknik pengambilan subyek menggunakan Purposive Sampling. Subyek penelitian yang diambil adalah peserta didik kelas XI jurusan Teknik Permesinan sebanyak 62 peserta didik yang terbagi menjaadi 2 kelas yaitu kelas kelompok eksperimen yang berjumlah 31 peserta didik dan kelas kelompok kontrol yang berjumlah 31 peserta didik. Sumber data penelitian menggunakan data primer. Teknik pengumpulan data melalui skala, wawancara dan observasi. Instrumen penelitian menggunakan skala motivasi belajar yang telah dilakukan uji validitas internal dan reliabelitas alpha dengan α = 0,942 yang berarti memiliki reliabelitas tinggi. Teknik analisis data menggunakan uji Paired t-test dan uji Independent t-test. Penelitian ini kelompok pada eksperimen diberi perlakuan metode reward 19 kali petemuan. Hasil analisis diperoleh hasil yaitu peningkatan motivasi belajar yang signifikan peserta didik yang menggunakan metode reward. t hitung = -22,938 lebih kecil (karena bilangan negatif sehingga lebih kecil) dari t tabel = -2,042 dan nilai p < 0,05 (0,000 < 0,05) pada taraf signifikansi 5%. Kesimpulan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode reward efektif meningkatkan motivasi belajar peserta didik kelas XI jurusan Teknik Permersinan di SMK Negeri 3 Yogyakarta. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dikemukakan saran kepada kepala sekolah agar senantiasa memberi dukungan serta memfasilitasi pelaksanaan metode reward dan kepada guru bidang studi agar sebaiknya menggunakan metode reward pada KBM.

Abstract
This research aimed at investigating the effectiveness of reward method to improve students’ learning motivation at SMK N 3 Yogyakarta It was an experimental research. The experimental design used in the research was quasi-experimental with ex post facto design. The research was conducted from early May to early June 2017 at SMK N 3 Yogyakarta. The subjects were determined using purposive sampling. The subjects of the research were 62 students of Machinery Engineering Program. They were divided into two groups: experimental group (31 students) and control group (31 students). The source of the data was the primary source while the data were obtained through scale, interview, and observation. The instrument of the research was learning motivation scale the internal validity and alpha reliability (α = 0.942 which means it had high reliability) of which had been tested. The data were analyzed using paired t-test and independent t-test. In this study, the experimental group was treated using reward method in 19 meetings. From the analysis, it was obtained the significant improvement on students’ learning motivation using reward method. It was gained the T as -22.938 less than t-table (-2.042) and p (0.000) less than 0.05 in significance level of 5%. Based on the research result, it was concluded that reward method was effective to improve students’ learning motivation at SMK N 3 Yogyakarta. Based on the findings, it is suggested for the headmaster to give the support and facilities for the teachers to implement reward method in teahing and learning process.
