PERSEPSI MAHASISWA BK FIP UNY TERHADAP INDEKS PRESTASI KUMULATIF (IPK)

Penelitian bertujuan mendeskripsikan persepsi mahasiswa terhadap indeks prestasi kumulatif (IPK). Metode yang digunakan kualitatif deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: Mahasiswa memiliki persepsi bahwa IPK penting karena dengan IPK yang baik dapat menunjang karir untuk masa depan, bentuk tolak ukur kemampuan diri dan dapat memunculkan respon positif dari orang tua. Mahasiswa juga memiliki persepsi bahwa ilmu yang terpenting. Persepsi positif ketika orang lain mendapatkan IPK sesuai etika akademik adalah suatu hal yang pantas menjadi teladan dan pantas mendapatkan apresiasi. Terdapat persepsi yang negatif ketika orang lain mendapatkan IPK tidak sesuai etika akademik yaitu mendatangkan kemarahan dan ketidakpercayaan dari orang lain. Terdapat juga persepsi bahwa ketika melakukan kecurangan ada hal yang melatarbelakanginya. Tujuan yang hendak dicapai dalam mendapatkan IPK adalah mempersiapkan karier ke depannya, bukti pertanggungjawaban kepada orang tua dan syarat untuk lulus. Faktor yang mempengaruhi dalam mendapatkan IPK adalah faktor internal yaitu gengsi dan faktor eksternal yaitu orang tua, teman serta dosen.

Abstract

The research aims to describe students' perceptions of the grade point average (GPA). The method used is qualitative descriptive. The results showed: Students have a perception that the GPA is important because with a good GPA can support a career for the future, form a measure of self-ability and can bring a positive response from parents. Students also have the perception that science is the most important. Positive perception when other people get a GPA in accordance with academic ethics is something that deserves to be an example and deserves apretiation. There is a negative perception when other people get an unspected GPA with academic ethics that is bringing anger and distrust from others. There is also a perception that when cheating there is something behind it. The goal to be achieved in obtaining a GPA is to prepare for a career in the future, proof of accountability to parents and fulfill the requirements to graduate. There are two factors that influence the GPA, an internal factor (prestige) and an external factors (parents, friends, and lecturers).
