PENYESUAIAN SOSIAL PEKERJA ANAK SEBAGAI PELAYAN RUMAH MAKAN DI YOGYAKARTA

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan memahami tentang penyesuaian sosial yang dilakukan oleh pekerja anak sebagai pelayan rumah makan di Yogyakarta. Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian kualitatif studi kasus. Subyek dalam penelitian ini yaitu ER,MA, dan UD. Metode pengumpulan data menggunakan wawancara mendalam. Uji keabsahan data menggunakan teknik triangulasi sumber. Dari hasil penelitian diketahui bahwa Ketiga subjek memiliki kesulitan dalam melakukan penyesuaian sosial di tempat kerja. Penyesuaian yang dilakukan masih sebatas penyesuaian terhadap pekerjaan yang dilakukan. Penyesuaian sosial dengan rekan kerja, atasan dan orang disekitar masih kurang baik, mulai berkata kasar, dan terpengaruh perilaku negatif.

Abstract

This research is meant to find out and understand the social adjustment made by child labors as waitress of restaurants in Yogyakarta. This research used a phenomenological qualitative approach. this subjects in this research were ER, MA, and UD. The data was collected through in-deep interviews. The validity of the data is triangulation techniques. the result of this research it was found that the three subjects had difficulties in making social adjustments in the restaurant. Adjustments made are stull limited to adjustments to the work performed. Social adjustments with coworkers, superiors, and people around is still not good, starts to say harshly, and is influenced by negative behavior. The result of this study are 3 of 5 families tend to used an authoritative parenting style, and 2 family using authoritarian and authoritative parenting. Authoritarian parenting was shown by the relationship of parents and children awkward, parents dominant in the decision making, and less appreciate the children's achievement. Authoritative parenting, parents give freedom to the child in determining the choice or activities to be lived, but still provide guidance, demanding and controlling the activities of children. Professions as abdi dalem do not have a major influence in teaching cultural values to children.
