MICROCONTROLLER TRAINER AS INSTRUCTIONAL MEDIA OF CONTROL SYSTEM FOR CLASS XI AUTOMATION INDUSTRIAL ENGINEERING PROGRAM AT SMK NEGERI 2 KENDAL

Abstract
The XI grade students are still difficulties in microcontroller study due to the need of microcontroller instructional media to facilitate student in learning. The aims of the research is to develop instructional media of a microcontroller trainer and test the feasibility. This instructional media used on the lesson of programmable control systems of Industrial Automation Engineering program at SMK Negeri 2 Kendal. This research use Research and Development (R&D) methode 4-D models of Thiagarajan. Methods of Research and Development (R&D) model 4-D through three stages : (1) Define, (2) Design, (3) Develop. This research resulted in the form of instructional media trainer ATmega16 AVR microcontroller with 4 circuit modules include input/output devices like LED, button, ADC, sevensegmen, LCD, matriksLED, communication RS232, PWM, servo motors and DC motors. Based on the content validation by subject matter experts result to the percentage of 94% or very decent result, the validating construct by media experts gained 87.8% or very decent result and the test results by the use of a class XI student membership of Industrial Automation Engineering SMK Negeri 2 Kendal amounted to 74.4% so this microcontroller trainer including category eligible for use in lesson.
