Abstract


ABSTRACT

This study aims to describe 1) the perception of PPKn teachers on Citizenship Education is multidimensional, 2) the constraints of PPKn teachers in teaching the Citizenship Education is multidimensional and 3) the expectations of the PPKn teachers for Citizenship Education are multidimensional in SMA Negeri Se-Kota Purwokerto.

The research approach used is qualitative with descriptive method. Technique of determining research subject using purposive technique, that is with criterion of subject teacher of Pancasila and Citizenship Education with area of Civic Education expertise. Data collection techniques used interviews and documentation. Technique examination of data validity used is Cross Check data. Data obtained were analyzed using inductive data analysis method, according to Creswell that is building theme, category, pattern and meaning.

The results of this study indicate that, 1) The perceptions of PPKn teachers on Citizenship Education are multidimensional in nature described in: a) political education forming categories of political awareness, political participation, engaging in public policy making general patterns of involvement in elections and discussion activities; b) education of democracy in the category of freedom, equality, Pancasila democracy with a general pattern of freedom of expression and consensus deliberation; c) human rights education with the category of human rights awareness and human rights equality with a common pattern of respecting and respecting the rights of others; d) character education with the category of cultivation of values, attitudes and behaviors characterized by the general pattern of exemplary, custom, discipline, responsibility; e) legal education with the category of legal consciousness with a general pattern of understanding about the rights and obligations of citizens in any environment and things that are religious; 2) the obstacles of PPKn teachers in learning Citizenship Education are multidimensional in depth Civic Education materials are multidimensional, limited teaching hours, lack of readiness in material change, lack of equal commitment between government and schools in character education; 3) the expectations of PPKn teachers for Citizenship Education are multidimensional, ie: a) students are involved in political participation; b) students can apply democracy consistently in family, school and community settings; c) students may respect each other, not violate human rights; d) students can behave and behave in good character.
