ENGARUH METODE MIND MAPPING TERHADAP PENCAPAIAN KOMPETENSI PEMILIHAN BAHAN TAMBAHAN BUSANA DI SMK MA’ARIF 2 SLEMAN

Abstract
Tujuan penelitian ini: (1) mengetahui pencapaian kompetensi Pemilihan Bahan Tambahan Busana pada
kelas kontrol dan kelas eksperimen sebelum diberikan treatment; (2) mengetahui pencapaian kompetensi Pemilihan
Bahan Tambahan Busana pada kelas kontrol dan kelas eksperimen setelah diberikan treatment; (3) mengetahui
pengaruh penggunaan metode mind mapping terhadap kompetensi Pemilihan Bahan Tambahan Busana pada kelas
X. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan Quasi Experiment dengan desain Non-Equivalent Control Group Design.
Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas X Tata Busana 1 (kelas kontrol) dan X Tata Busana 2 (kelas eksperimen). Analisis
data menggunakan analisis deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa: (1) pencapaian kompetensi sebelum diberi
perlakuan menunjukkan masih banyak siswa yang belum mencapai KKM; (2) pencapaian kompetensi setelah diberi
perlakuan menunjukkan pada kelas kontrol 63% siswa sudah mencapai KKM dan pada kelas eksperimen 90% siswa
sudah mencapai KKM; (3) terdapat pengaruh pada pencapaian kompetensi Pemilihan Bahan Tambahan Busana
dibuktikan dengan perbandingan hasil pretest dan posttest pada kelas eksperimen yang berpengaruh positif. Hal ini
menunjukkan bahwa mind mapping memberikan pengaruh pencapaian kompetesi Pemilihan Bahan Tambahan Busana.

THE EFFECT OF MIND MAPPING METHOD ON THE ATTAINMENT OF COMPETENCY IN
THE SELECTING CLOTHING ACCESSORY MATERIALS
AT SMK MA’ARIF 2 SLEMAN
Abstract
This study aimed to find out: (1) the attainment of the competency in selecting clothing accessory
materials in the control class and the experimental class before the treatment; (2) the attainment of the
competency in selecting clothing accessory materials in the control class and the experimental class after
the treatment; and (3) the effect of using the mind mapping method on the competency in selecting
clothing accessory materials in Grade X. This was a quasi-experimental study using the nonequivalent
control group design. The population comprised students of Grade X of Fashion Design of SMK Ma’arif
2 Sleman. Grade X of Fashion Design 1 was the control class and Grade X of Fashion Design 2 was the
experimental class. The data were analyzed by a descriptive technique. The results of the study showed
that: (1) regarding the attainment of the competency before the treatment, there were still many students
not attaining the minimum mastery criterion (MMC); (2) regarding the attainment of the competency
after the treatment, in the control class 63% of the students attained the MMC and in the experimental
class 90% attained the MMC; and (3) there was an effect of the method on the attainment of the
competency in selecting clothing accessory materials, indicated by the comparison of the pretest and
posttest results in the experimental class which had a positive effect. This showed that the mind mapping
method was capable of affecting the attainment of the competency in selecting clothing accessory
materials.
