PENINGKATAN KEMAMPUAN MEMAHAMI ISI CERITA PENDEK MELALUI PENERAPAN METODE CIRC SISWA KELAS V

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran dan meningkatkan kemampuan memahami isi cerita pendek siswa kelas V SDN 3 Jarakan tahun ajaran 2015/2016 dengan menerapkan metode Cooperative Integrated Reading And Composition (CIRC). Jenis penelitian  ini  adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas. Subjek penelitian siswa kelas V dan objeknya kemampuan memahami isi cerita pendek. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa metode CIRC membuat siswa lebih aktif. Kemampuan memahami isi cerita pendek juga meningkat dilihat dari meningkatnya pemahaman siswa terkait dengan tema, alur, tokoh, setting, amanat dan menuliskan kembali cerita pendek dengan makna yang utuh. Peningkatan kemampuan memahami isi cerita pendek juga dilihat dari hasil tes yaitu pra tindakan 34,48%, Siklus I menjadi 55,17% dan siklus 2 meningkat menjadi 79,31%.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to increase the learning quality and increase the ability in understanding the content of short story of the fifth grade students of Jarakan 3 elementary school for 2015/2016 academic year by implementing the cooperative integrated reading and composition (CIRC) method. The type of the research were the fifth grade student and the object of ebility was to understand the content of short story. The result so that the CIRC method makes student get more active. The ability in understanding the content of short stories is also increased. The students understanding aspects are: theme, plot, characters, setting, moral values, and the re-writing of the short stories in complete meaning. The increase of ability in understanding the content of short stories can also be seen in the result of the test which is 34.48% of pre-action; increase to 55.17% in the first cycle and in gets higher to 79.31% in the second cycle.
