PENINGKATAN HASIL BELAJAR IPS MELALUI MODEL PROBLEM BASED INSTRUCTION (PBI) DENGAN MEDIA GAMBAR PADA SISWA KELAS IV SDN TUKANGAN

Abstrak

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar IPS melalui model Problem Based Instruction dengan media gambar. Penelitian ini dilakukan di SD Negeri Tukangan Yogyakarta. Jenis penelitian adalah penelitian tindakan kelas dengan menggunakan desain Kemmis dan Taggart. Subjek penelitian ini adalah kelas IVA SD Negeri Tukangan Yogyakarta yang berjumlah 25 siswa. Metode
pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah tes, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Instrumen yang digunakan yaitu tes dan lembar observasi. Teknik analisis data menggunakan analisis data deskriptif kualitatif dan analisis kuantitatif.Penelitian ini dilakukan dalam 2 siklus.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model Problem Based Instruction dengan media gambar dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar IPS siswa kelas IV SD Negeri Tukangan Yogyakarta. Hal tersebut ditandai dengan peningkatan rata-rata dan jumlah siswa yang mendapatkan nilai ≥ 70. Pada pra tindakan siswa yang mendapatkan nilai ≥ 70 sebanyak 8 orang siswa atau sebesar 32% (ketercapaian hasil belajar rendah). Dalam siklus I mengalami peningkatan menjadi 14 orang siswa atau sebesar 56%(ketercapaian hasil belajar sedang). Begitu juga untuk siklus II sebanyak 22 siswa atau 80%(ketercapaian hasil belajar sangat tinggi) mendapatkan nilai ≥ 70.

Abstract

This research aim at improving the social science learning results through problem-based instruction by using pictures as the media. This research was done in SD Negeri Tukangan Yogyakarta. This research was an action research using Kemmis and Taggart’s design. The subjects were the 25 students of IVA SD Negeri Tukangan Yogyakarta. The methods used to collect the data were
conducting tests, and observation as well as documenting the process. The instruments used were tests and observation sheets. The data were then analyzed by using a descriptive qualitative technique and quantitative analysis. This research was done in two cycles. The results of this research show that the model of problem-based instruction by using pictures as the media could improve the social science learning results of the students of class IV in SD Negeri Tukangan Yogyakarta. This could be seen from the average score improvement and the number of students having scores ≥70. Before the research was carried out, there were 8 students or 32% of the whole students getting scores ≥70 (low learning result achievement). In cycle 1, there were 14 students or 56% of the whole students getting scores ≥70 (medium learning result achievement). Meanwhile, in cycle 2, there were 22 students or 80% of the whole students getting scores ≥70 (very high learning resualtc hievement).
