KONFLIK TOKOH UTAMA DALAM KINDERROMAN HINTER DEM BAHNHOF LIEGT DAS MEER KARYA JUTTA RICHTER

Abstract


This research aims at describing: (1)the factor causing the main character’s conflict, (2)the main character’s conflict, (3)main character’s conflict resolution in roman children of Hinter dem Bahnhof liegt das Meer.The data resources were taken from roman children of Hinter dem Bahnhof liegt das Meer by Jutta Richter published by Deutscher Taschenbuch Verlag on 2008 in München. The research is qualitative descriptive research  using structural approach Reinhard Marquaß. The data validation were  collected by semantic validation and expert judgement. The research uses inter-rater and intra-rater reliability. The findings show that, (1) the factors causing the main character’s conflicts are the presence of child abuse by Neuer’s step father, his mother who is sick, loneliness, and friendship with Kosmos. Whereas, (2) the internal conflict experienced by the main character are fear, sadness, and longing. Besides, the external conflicts come with the presence of child abuse by Neuer’s step father, Kosmos betrayal, and the meeting with Queen Caracas. (3) In order to solve the conflicts, the main character lives his life independently, thinking about the beautiful sea, and deciding to reach the sea.
